I’m excited to giveaway a signed copy of Marisa McClellan’s cookbook, Food In Jars, Preserving in Small Batches Year Round!
If you’re curious about preserving, you’ve probably read Marisa’s blog, Food In Jars. The process of preserving might seem overwhelming with hundreds of jars involved, but Marisa focuses on small batches and makes “putting up” accessible at any time. Through her blog, she smartly instructs readers on equipment, the process and provides tips that speak to the beginner, as well as the expert. Marisa also has a Recipe Index on her blog that I’ve used several times with great success.
The cookbook she has created is already a favorite in my kitchen. It contains beautiful photography, patterned pages and, of course, the wonderful recipes for small batches of goodness.
When you read her book, it’s as if Marisa is sitting in your kitchen and talking about something she loves with the knowledge to teach you her techniques.
The book is full of great recipes for jams, jellies and pickles. It also has some unexpected recipes for granola, salts, nut butters and stocks. On my recent to-do list for preserving is Marisa’s Peach Salsa and her Marinara Sauce. Plus, I will be making my first homemade ketchup and mustard. There are so many recipes I want to try that I know this cookbook will be a staple of my kitchen for years.
At the beginning of the summer, I was fortunate to take a canning class with Marisa at the Coventry Farmer’s Market, one of Connecticut’s best markets. It’s not in my neighborhood, but traveling for Marisa’s class was well worth it. She showed us how to make Rhubarb Chutney, riffed on preserving and answered all of our questions. Plus, we all got to take a jar of chutney home. That delicious jar did not last long in our pantry!
In addition to Marisa’s cookbook, I will be giving away a Custom Topper PDF of our new design, Flavor Drops.
This design is not available in RiverDog Prints’ Etsy Shop yet. You can personalize your toppers with a custom kitchen logo and specific colors that represent what you’re preserving. You can also add text for a specific preserving project or leave it blank to print anytime you need toppers.
You can take a look at our other Printable Toppers for ideas and more information in our Etsy Shop.
The PDF can contain both regular and wide-mouth sized toppers that you print and cut yourself whenever you need them. It will contain one spectrum of color that the winner will choose.
To win this awesome prize pack, please leave a comment below stating what you like to preserve best or what you hope to start preserving. Please make sure to leave an email address that you use frequently. I will get in touch with the winner via email.
If you’d like to score a couple extra entries, you can “Like” the RiverDog Prints’ Facebook Page for one extra entry.
For another entry, you can sign up for our newsletter here. The winner will be randomly selected on Labor Day.
Good luck and Happy Canning!
