I am in a Spring Turnip Pickle

Last week was my first trip to my CSA and the bounty was fantastic [blogged here]. It’s been salads galore all week and savory garlic in pasta. We’ve been living in fresh city and just loving it.

But I was perplexed by one item from the farm – little turnips. I don’t usually buy turnips, so I couldn’t imagine how to prepare them.

The homemade–canning community to the rescue! I’m a Fan of Tigressjampickl on Facebook and saw her post a recipe for pickled radishes from The Kitchn. They looked so pretty, I thought that the recipe might work for my little turnips. When I commented to Tigress about it, she shared a link to one of her blogs that was perfect.

Check out her post with the recipe for spring turnip pickles. The beginning of my turnips are below. I can’t wait to taste them in a few days. Thanks Tigress!
