OM :: The Situation

My husband and I had a Parent-Teacher Conference with Eli’s Kindergarten teacher this week. We were curious about what his teacher would say in the meeting, not knowing what kind of student he would be. Not that he isn’t smart and curious, but he’s also stubborn, talkative and a rule-stretcher.

Our oldest son, Abe, had the same Kindergarten teacher, so we knew her well. She’s a teacher that genuinely likes every child she teaches, but takes no guff. And she keeps them engaged throughout the whole year. Not an easy task for the K Set, but we thought Eli might be a challenge.

Her first words were,
“Do you know what I call Eli?
He’s ‘The Situation’.”

We knew exactly what she meant. And she said it just like we would: a shake of the head, a small smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. That’s what that little creature we call Eli does – he drives you crazy in the best way possible.

  1. Oh. My. Goodness! My face hurts from smiling at your second image. It sums it up perfectly. Enjoy your Situation. He will keep you on your toes and give you many, many stories to tell in your old age.

  2. LOL, I’m glad this didn’t involve The Jersey Shore.

    I have a “situation” also. He’s been referred to as a “live wire” and I lovingly call him “Ethanimal.” It’s amazing how individual each child is and how their special qualities warm our hearts. I love when teachers “get them” the way we do.
