The day I’ve been waiting for finally arrived yesterday! The bounty below is all ours from the first week that our CSA (community supported agriculture) share has kicked in.

There is so much more than I thought there would be the first week, but we’ll make it work. I’m excited to eat a tricked out salad everyday (had a read leaf/radish/pea/almond one for dinner) and have plans for everything else which I’ll share as these bountiful weeks roll by. The only specimen I don’t know what to do with is the turnips. Any suggestions would be great!
I really wanted to go to the farm this first week with my husband, but with all the family goings-on with my dad, it wasn’t possible. So, I crammed our little point & shoot into hubby’s hand and instructed him to take some pictures. Here’s his take on our CSA.

It’s almost like you were there, right?
Summer begins on Monday, so stay tuned for another canning paper goods giveaway on our Facebook page. Maybe we can swap some canning recipes to really enjoy summer’s edible gifts all year.
