OM :: The Family Photo

Every year on September 24th since 2005, we take a family photo on our front steps.


This date in September is significant because it’s the date we became a family in our home.

Abe was born in September of 2002, right on schedule, with a natural birth in the hospital. He came home two days later.

Eli was born 3 months premature in July of 2005 with an emergency C-section. He came home 89 days later.

On (you guessed it…) September 24, 2005.

Here is our first family photo, staged by two of my wonderful friends who brought our yard back to life on this day.


Every year, I have a thankful, grateful, humble moment that we were able to create our family as it is today.
