It is that word-picking time of the year!
I like to pick a defining word at the beginning of a calendar year. It’s a fun process that I usually think about for a couple weeks in December on my walks with Scout. I run through words in my mind until one immediately feels right for where I am at the time and where I want to go. This year is Orchestrate.
I thought about the word Focus and that was a close second. But I needed a word that was a little more fluid, a little closer to how my brain processes things. When you hear a great orchestra, it’s a combination of a lot of hard work, talent, experience, a great piece of music and everything working together. I hope to have moments in 2014 that will have that combination of factors orchestrated into something wonderful.
Happy New Year!
