My 2nd featured blog is from the lovely Kelcey Kintner of The Mama Bird Diaries.

There are so many things I enjoy about reading Kelcey’s posts. She’s incredibly funny (I wonder if she ever gets sick of being called funny because it must happen all the time?) and is overwhelmed in a disarming way about being a mom. Kelcey makes those cringe-worthy motherhood moments read like you’d almost want to live them again. And she clearly cares about her readers. I can tend to be a lurker (not in a creepy way), but when I have commented on a post, Kelcey has responded more than once with a personal remark. A nice personal remark. Now that’s classy!
If you shy away from what is termed as “Mommyblogs,” you really are missing some very good writing and insights into what makes up a mom and what shapes a woman. I think mass media is enjoying the term mommybloggers a bit too much and lumping the misinformed with skilled set. Psst – The Mama Bird Diaries is part of the skilled set…
Kelcey’s recent move from Manhattan to the suburbs has kept me smiling for weeks. There are kid questions (“So when I’m a mommy and I have babies, where do I get the daddy?”) and potty training and movie-star crushes and yearning for friends and snapshot after snapshot of a beautiful family. Which, in turn, makes me take a moment to appreciate my beautiful family – that’s what good writing does.
If you haven’t just jumped over to Kelcey’s blog yet, you can find her here. You can also find her on The Mouthy Housewives, a humor advice site (she’s co-founder and a weekly contributor.) She also contributes here, here and here! And she’s funny.
