Book Review – Moon Rabbit

If I ever published a picture book, I would want it to be as sweet and pretty as Moon Rabbit by Natalie Russell. Little Rabbit likes living in the city. During the day, she is occupied with everything the city has to offer. But at night, she feels lonely as she stares at the moon.

One day, when Little Rabbit falls asleep in the city park, she wakes past her bedtime to beautiful music. She searches through the trees for the lovely sound and finds Brown Rabbit playing his guitar. They become fast friends and Little Rabbit lives with Brown Rabbit in the park.

Even though Little Rabbit enjoys her time with Brown Rabbit, she misses her city. She travels back to her home, but no longer stares at the moon feeling lonely. She knows Brown Rabbit is coming for a visit the next day.

Reading is big in our house. When we find a book that is beautiful and a good read, it’s a pleasure to read it over and over and over again. The colors, illustrations and patterns jump off the page and the rabbits are adorable to boot.

Natalie Russell lives in Scotland and is an illustrator, printmaker and professor at Dundee University. This charming book, Moon Rabbit, is her third for Bloomsbury.
