If you’ve been reading this series, you know that I am a huge fan of the name Beans. I’m not sure why I like it so much, but the dogs always seem to fit the name in a spunky, original, free-spirited sort of way. Let’s check out Beans from Reno.

Dog Questions
What is your name?
Beans the Wonder Dog
What breed of dog are you?
I’m a Chiweenie
How old are you?
I think I’m eleven, but I feel like I’m seven.
Where did you come from (pound, rescue, breeder)?
I was rescued in 2005. I was wandering around a local truck stop. After a few days, some nice humans took me home, gave me medical attention and lots of love. They had a busy household, so I moved in with my family.
What nicknames do the humans call you?
I answer to Beansie-Reno, Beanie-rrific, and Beansie-Rocket

I like Beansie-Rocket. I have a bit of an airplane obsession.
What is your favorite walk/hike?
I love to walk along Steamboat Creek which runs behind my house. There are lots of interesting holes to sniff, trees to pee on and butterflies to chase.
What is your go to toy?
My yellow blankie. Oh, so, cozy. I go there when I need some alone time.
What is the most fashionable thing you wear?
I have an airplane collar with my name and cellphone embroidered on it. Girls like it.
If you’re a reader, what is your favorite book?
I’m currently reading, “Who were the Beatles”, but my favorite book is, “Dogerella”

What is the treat you will do anything for?
Tuna
What is your greatest skill?
I take my fitness very seriously. I can outrun anyone. If I were a human, I could beat you in an arm wrestling contest.
If you could speak only one sentence, what would you say?
Dude, teach me how to use that can opener.
What is your favorite human food?
Spaghettios
What do you love most about your human?
The Mom: My protector and sidekick
The Dad: Warm and snuggly
The Boy: Fun to run and play and jump and roll with
The Girl: I think the sun rises and sets around her

What is your dog’s name?
Beans the Wonder Dog
What breed of dog do you have?
Chiweenie
How old is your dog?
We think he’s eleven-ish
Where did you get your dog (pound, rescue, breeder)?
He was rescued from Boomtown, a local truck stop. He had been wandering around for several days. Friends took him home, cared for him and gave him to my sister-in-law. She had several large dogs so he came to live with us. We were just starting our family and he was the perfect addition.

According to my son, he doesn’t need to be taught anything, “He came programmed to do things automatically”. It’s true!
How does your dog make you laugh?
He’s a little dog who barks like mad at every horse that goes past our house. He acts like he can take them down. He also barks at airplanes, but if a hawk flies overhead, he takes cover.
Is there any weird behavior you’d like to share about your dog?
When my husband is out of town, he won’t go to bed until he leads me to each child’s room to see they are OK. Also, when my daughter is gone, he lays by the door until she returns.
What is your favorite walk/hike to take?
We have a big yard. Several times a day, he runs every inch of it. We call it “securing the perimeter”. He’s also a great companion for neighborhood walks while the kids run or ride bikes.
What is the most annoying behavior your dog exhibits?
He chases cyclists. Lots of road races go past our house and I live in fear he’ll cause a major pile up.
Does your dog wear anything fashionable?
He’s a nudist at heart.
Has your dog ever destroyed anything in your home?
He’s eaten a few plastic ponies, but who hasn’t?
What do you love most about your dog?
He is my sidekick and faithful protector of our kids and our home. He is snuggly, sweet, fun and loving. He means the world to me.
