Springtime came early in our part of the US.
Scout has been enjoying sitting in her “spot” in our front yard.
Spending afternoons with her nose in the air… bliss.
It’s still recovery time for Scout, but we’re happy to see her run a little bit in the yard. I can rarely catch her in focus when she’s on the move, but she came straight on and just a wee bit slower than usual. I believe she can fly. Continue Reading
We had a scare with Scout this week. A limp that wouldn’t go away. Her mom, pictured here, passed away from a bone tumor in her leg. We took her to the vet and were reassured with x-rays that she just has arthritis and a bacterial infection from a tick bite. Meds will heal her.… Continue Reading
Whenever Scout holds her ball like a cigar, I’m reminded of Bugs Bunny, when he pretends to be a gangster opposite Elmer Fudd. Bugs Bunny: “I’m gonna rub ya out, Marooni, see? Yeah, rub ya… out, see? This is where Scout is liveliest. She’s an incredible swimmer, strong and sure. She would probably swim for a ball or stick until she dropped. (Now that she’s 10, we let her swim for 20 minutes.) RiverDog. Continue Reading
I tried to get a photo of Scout in action, maybe even leaping, but this was our best shot. Her fur is particularly well lit 🙂 Hope your Leap Day was fly. Continue Reading
Nice to catch Scout in a bit of a smile. Always a beautiful girl, no matter what expression she shows. Continue Reading
There’s my puppy. Scout’s seriousness doesn’t let me see the puppy that she was ten years ago. But there she is. Tail pointing old age to her left? It went that way.====> Continue Reading
When Scout plays in our yard, she has a favorite “go-to” toy. She holds the Kong rope in her mouth and whips it, flips it, roundhouses it around her head. She creates her own little world of mayhem. And loves every minute of her snorting, huffing, whirly-gig trip. Continue Reading
It’s rare on a walk with Scout to snap a photo of her whole face. As you would think, it’s mostly nose to the ground, tail in the air and the quick “check-in” glance to make sure I’m still in radar distance. The opportunity for this photo of her full-on face materialized because she had… Continue Reading
