Just a quick check-in today on the old 44×44 goal…
I have checked off one of the things one my To Do List: buy a share from a local farm! Actually, my husband called the organic farm we had seen at our local farmer’s market last year. We now have a full share in that farm and I’m excited to see what that will bring to our table.
June is the first month we can actually get some crops in hand, but I’m excited! I took a few pictures last summer from that farm’s veggie selections. Don’t they look great?
I may have to start canning and freezing fresh depending on how much this share yields. I will surely use the books from Ashley English for any canning adventures. She has a whole series on canning, the first to be published this April. Keep her books in mind!
Oh, and I’m almost in double digits for the big 44 goal. Sweet!

yay, i love it! and aside from getting great veggies, you don’t have to make any decisions about what to get or spend time shopping! the challenge comes later, i suppose, when you have to figure out what to do with the veggies you do get. i love my csa. AND! it’s pretty cheap, comparatively!
