Today is the first chilly day I’ve felt in awhile, so it feels right that October is rolling around tomorrow. September was a bit of a roller coaster ride for me health-wise, but it seems to have leveled out now. Don’t feel too bad for me though. Even if I had some very bad days, my body was able to bounce back enough for me to finish my 1st sprint triathlon. I started training for it at the beginning of the summer and needed to finish it before the cold weather descended. So, I can cross that off my personal list and move on to the business cross-offs.
September Business Goals
1* Blog ahead and post at least 5 days a week between my two blogs
– I was inconsistent with this goal and will transfer it to October. I think it’s important to accomplish.
2* Finish designing seasonal and Holiday items and upload to site
– I’m satisfied with what I’ve done so far on this.
3* Track September Ad with Google Analytics
– I’m kind of encouraged by the results of my ad. It got my name/brand out to a lot of new customers, but not a lot of sales. I’m undecided on how to proceed though.
4* Clean office
– now I need to file 🙂
5* Find the right fit for socially sharing photos and designs
– This got pushed to a lower priority and will move to October.
6* Promote Facebook page
– I continue to do this periodically, so it will become part of a new list I will create for myself as a perpetual goal. I did get my vanity URL 🙂
7* Finish taking product shots
– Perpetual Goal List (ha!)
8* Write another newsletter and create pdf download freebie
– A monthly Perpetual Goal List
9* Finish reading Web Marketing for Dummies 🙂
– Low priority this month, so it moves yet again to another month.
Now that I have my handy-dandy perpetual goal list in my head, my monthly list here will be shorter.
October Business Goals
1* Blog ahead and post at least 5 days a week between my two blogs
2* Find the right fit for socially sharing photos and designs
3* Complete filing in my office
4* Pay some attention to my neglected Etsy shop
5* Convert existing designs into digital designs
6* Figure out where I’m going with advertising
I feel like I’m forgetting something… but this is solid. Hope you all had a productive month and I’ll see you on your blogs! And thanks, as always, to Jena for creating this monthly goal check-in at Modish Biz Tips.

a sprint triathlon? i have no idea what it is, but i am impressed, and am so happy to hear you are feeling better. your guest post at the social life of paper is great! and your october goals look awesome–i hate filing stuff, and often ignore it. . . oops.
A sprint triathlon is a 1/2-mile swim, a 12-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run. And thanks for reading my 1st guest blog post 🙂
wow triathalon, that definitely takes commitment! congrats on completing that & your other sept. goals – i’ve seen your logo around a bit more on the internets!! good luck for october 🙂 deb
Here comes October! Hope your month goes really really well!
I’m glad you’re feeling better and – whoa -doing triathalons! It sounds so Olympic! 🙂 Yep, I have a cluster of perpetual goals. They’re ongoing and not time-specific so I don’t put them on the list. I guess if they slide they’ll get nudged back on. Have an awesome October with your goals!
Good luck with researching advertising. It’s definitely made a difference for me!
ok first off- a sprint triathalon?! Yowza! You go! Guess I can get off my arse and do yoga every once in awhile, hmm? 😉
And blogging ahead of time is hard for me too, really hard! That’s one of my continual goals too.
And advertising is more about exposure and building brand recognition- you have to be consistent with it to start getting sales, it takes awhile! Just keep that in mind.
Good luck with everything! 🙂
Thanks Jena, but don’t be too impressed. I took 2 months off from yoga, had my first class back on Monday and now I can’t raise my arms over my head 🙂
Wow–kudos on that sprint triathlon! I’m super duper impressed, no matter how you try to downplay it. 🙂 Can’t wait to hear more about your advertising journey–I always struggle with the “should I/shouldn’t I” with that.
Happy October!
I’d love to hear more about your advertising experience. I’m just starting to stick my toe in the water, so to speak.
Congrats on your triathlon. A happy body and mind is always good for business!
Advertising is a sticky wicket! I hate that we can’t always see direct effects from a particular ad…good luck with that, and feel free to blog more on that topic, it’s sure to be popular.
As far as the triathlon…that’s plain awesome!
So cool you’re doing triathlons! And I agree with “Candied Fabrics” about advertising. It frustrating to me to not be able to see direct effects from various ads…
