It’s been some kind of week… the good kind.
I got into Craftland, a month-long annual holiday craft fair in Providence, RI. (More on this soon.)
I may be meeting my beloved friend-at-large, Angie, next week in the audience of a TV show (if that happens, you know there will be a blog post.)
I was contacted by a friend who will be using my canning labels for an event that will be photographed for a book.
All crazy-good things for which I am grateful. But my moment this week is about homework, the first of the school year. Seeing my five-year-old sit with his big brother at the dining room table and do homework was a thrill. He did not stop talking the whole time, which made it difficult for my 3rd-grader to concentrate on his new planner. (Can I just say I love 3rd grade and that he is learning to use a calendar! Hallelujah!)
Seeing those two little heads hovered over their work and concentrating on the task at hand is a beautiful sight. I meant to photograph them, but I must have been too blown away to remember. I think Angie’s photo of her son stands in nicely.

OM is *one moment* and is a meetup designed to notice & relish a moment in everyday life. The meetup idea was created by Linda at her blog, a la mode stuff.

Aw, I love this photo! Thanks for using it. What a great moment. Kate did her entire week’s homework while Jack struggled with his on Monday afternoon. Part of me was thrilled and part of me was heartbroken. I think life will be easier when they can do tasks like homework “together”.
Hooray for your exciting week! Your labels are amazing. They SO deserve to be published. And Craftland… Rock On! I can’t wait to hear all your insight after the show. As a stationer, I struggle with craft shows. I look forward to hearing the secrets of your wildly successful show!
As for next week… Fingers crossed!!!
So sweet when the kids are doing homework together and all is well in the household. Great photo.
Congrats on your labels being used in a book. How cool is that?! Pretty cool!
