**Update**
The giveaway has ended. Check our Facebook page in June for another giveaway of canning tags & labels. Thanks so much for entering!
I am very excited to host this giveaway of canning goodies!

One of the best instructional books I’ve read in awhile is Canning and Preserving with Ashley English: All you Need to Know to Make Jams, Jellies, Pickles, Chutneys & More. Ashley is the blog author of Small Measure, one of my favorite reads and a great tribute to homemade living. Canning & Preserving is one of her first books in a series called Homemade Living and it’s a terrific guide for anyone who wants to start canning. I’ve read it cover to cover and am SO ready to begin making my own homemade goodies.
I first met Ashley through her blog, where she was having a monthly giveaway of one of the canned creations from her book. I was the lucky winner of the September giveaway of Fig & Thyme Jam. It was so delicious that I had to send her a special thank you and I created tags for her canning jars. That sparked the creation of my own line of canning tags & labels. I asked for Ashley’s input on what she would look for and she graciously gave me her advice in the middle of a book deadline. I can’t thank her enough for taking the time and for sharing her expert opinion.
The giveaway includes one copy of Canning and Preserving with Ashley English: All you Need to Know to Make Jams, Jellies, Pickles, Chutneys & More, one set of 12 canning tags and one set of canning labels in the winner’s choice of design. The giveaway will run from today until next Monday, May 10 at noon. A winner will be selected and announced Monday afternoon.
You can enter the giveaway in a few different ways, but your main entry should be this: please go to the Canning section of RiverDog Prints here and enter a comment below about the design you like the most.

[…] Canning & Preserving with Ashley English. (The giveaway started today – you can check it out here.) I’m pretty close to crossing off most of the other goals, except streamlining product […]
My mom used to can tomatoes all the time. I’ve never canned a thing in my life, but I love the jars, tags, labels, idea of it all.
I love your initial tags. Although I really like all of them.
And, now I’m a FB fan and I added you to my giveaways on my blog sidebar for the duration of your giveaway!
I am so excited to make jelly this year. And, this book sounds like such a great way to learn some new recipes. I think the “scallop labels” in red are so cute and summery!
oh! what a great collaboration and giveaway! i kind of only dream of canning, but if i had some instructions. . . who knows what i can accomplish, right?! i really like the initial tags, AND the dots. so nice, clean and simple! i’m a fan on facebook, right? if i’m not already, i will be in two minutes! i want to win!!
I picked up the canning habit from my mother. Used to do it fairly regularly, especially making jelly, but it’s been more than a few years since I pulled out the pressure cooker for any reason. I do still sometimes manage to make flavored vinegars with herbs and edible flowers from the garden.
My favorite design? Definitely the scalloped edge. Clean, very cheerful, and could pass for either modern or old-fashioned. Not too many designs can make that claim.
I’ve fanned you on FB (refuse to use “like”) and signed up for the newsletter also.
LOVE the initial tag. It’s a nice contrast of old school jars with new school tags. I also like the scallop design. It goes well with the jars. I learned from friends how to can fruit when I lived out west in Washington state. I started with strawberry and raspberry preserves, and then eventually climbed cherry trees to pick my own Raineer cherries to can and made the most gorgeous cherry preserves. One of these days I’d like to be more daring with the recipes. This blog is inspiring me to dust off my canning pot and try it again this year.
[…] and your product photos are fantastic! If anyone has a hankering for some of these labels, Cyn is having a giveaway for some of her tags and labels as well as the book Canning and Preserving with Ashley […]
What a great giveaway! I’ve been meaning to try my hand at canning for a few summers now, but haven’t quite gotten around to it. It’s ridiculous I don’t know how to do it yet, given that my mom and grandmother have done it for as long as I can remember.
I love all of the designs, but I think the scalloped design slightly edges out the others.
Oh, and I’m already a FB fan. 🙂
I’m digging that scallop design, but they’re all really cute.
I just got into canning this year. It’s saving me a lot of freezer space and hopefully money in the long run.
That book looks great. I hope I win!
Ooh – LOVE those initial tags! ANd now you’ve got me loving baker’s twine!
Of course, I’m already your fan!
Ooh! I wasn’t subscribed to your newsletter – but I am now!
Yup – I tweeted too! I’ll try to tweet a few more times!
I’m planning on completing my first season of canning this fall – the book would be a huge help!
Though the initials are great, I think my fave is the scallop design canning labels/stickers. Super cute and easy to use!
I really like the scalloped design. My mom recently gave me some canning labels that were put out by Dover Publications (probably in the 70s) that are beautiful, and the scalloped design reminds me of them.
i like the polka dots! they’re all really cute though. and the book looks awesome.
i would choose the scalloped design for the canning label designs! so excited about this giveaway! one of my goals this summer is to learn how to can with our csa crops!
subscribed to your newsletter!
liked your facebook page!
and finally, i tweeted!

Hi Nicole,
Thanks for entering, but the giveaway ended on Monday. Completely my fault for not updating this post and closing the comments. I’m going to do another giveaway on our Facebook page in June, so I’ll make sure I let you know about that personally.
You have a beautiful blog, by the way. Thanks for stopping by!
