OM :: The Way Women Are

Sometimes, I feel like I live in a bubble. I may be jinxing myself here, but I have the most positive experiences with my current career. And women, for the most part, are responsible for that.

I hear and read stories of the negativity that looms and attacks, one woman to another. I also have seen it written more than once that you haven’t really become successful until you have haters. That is whack.

I don’t feel naive. I feel lucky. I feel surrounded by women who do their thing, whatever it is, and do it to the best of their ability. They share. They support. They make their world beautiful with craft or words or children.

I don’t want to misrepresent reality. My world, and I’m sure the world of these women, is not all rainbows and butterflies. We have moments of self-doubt, resentment and crankiness. It’s what we do with these emotions that express who we are.

I find it amazing that I can ask someone to help me whom I’ve never met and she comes through with willingness and grace. My moment: I’m overwhelmed with this positivity and proud of the way women are.

I hope you’re in my bubble.
It really is big enough for all of us.

Give Hope

Inspiration comes from many places when you’re present enough to pay attention. I admire women entrepreneurs who run their businesses successfully and give back at the same time. I’ve been striving to do the same and support a cause or charity each month in a creative way. I’ve seen the word HOPE quite a bit…Continue Reading

Mountain Weekend with My Best Girls

I’m so excited to be going away this weekend with my two best friends. The plans fell together quickly and almost effortlessly. We’re traveling to the mountains of Maine for hiking and eating and a whole lot of laughing. It’s rare that the three of us have a getaway to just hang out and breathe.…Continue Reading

My Failure as a Girlie-Girl

**I’m always honest about my age (43, thank you very much!) I think I got that from my mom, who would boast about her age with a follow-up of “Don’t I look young?” I think looking good was never far from her mind, evident from the older photos I’ve seen of her in her 20s.…Continue Reading
