\"\"It’s no secret that I have a chronic illness called Crohn’s Disease<\/a>. It’s not a topic of conversation I bring up readily, as it makes some people uncomfortable. But I think not ever talking about something that is prevalent in your life is dishonest.
\n
\nThis past week, I had a routine colonoscopy. It requires a full day of preparation, and the older I get, the more difficult that seems to be. With the mayhem of everyday life, this routine procedure is a total monkey wrench. Plus, the gory details of all that’s involved are definitely for partners and besties only. But in all this procedure’s inconvenience and discomfort, I am reminded of what is truly important.

\nAlmost every day, I feel well. Granted, I’ve taken many steps to achieve the best health I can have, but my appreciation for this health is enormous. I know some stories of other’s with this disease and the details are devastating. And if I broaden my thoughts to other diseases, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed by my good fortune.
\n
\nMy moment is appreciating my health and realizing that all the *small stuff* can be put into perspective. I have it good and will not take my temple for granted.
