The choices I make are not the easiest, but they’re not the hardest either. The struggle comes when I want to give myself a break and not give every choice my full attention. But this attention to choice is what drives a healthy existence and, no matter my brain matter, I can’t ignore making these choices and being thoughtful about each one.
\n
\nLet me share the convergence of cares as they relate to my moment:
\n:: make real food instead of buy it
\n:: be involved in children’s spiritual learning
\n:: enjoy dinner as a family
\n:: parent by example
\n
\nThose sound all very lofty and utopian, but what they boil down to is, I’m making challah bread from scratch, y’all!
\n
\nI used to love making bread, but fell out of the habit years ago. But this month of March, I’m participating in the Real Food Challenge from Not Dabbling in Normal (read more here<\/a>) and my goal is to make challah every Friday.
\n
\nThis fairly simple act feeds so much more than my family at dinner.
