\nI haven’t kept it a secret, but it’s starting to get ridiculous.
\n
\nTo maintain my *original* dark brown hair color, I need to dye my hair every three weeks, minimum. I’ve always done it myself with good results, but it really is becoming silly with its frequency. Plus, being a proponent of living the healthiest life possible, a dye job doesn’t really fit.
\n
\nWhy do I have such a death grip on my hair color? My husband has begged me for years to just. stop. already. And I tell him that when I’m sixty, I will. But if you do the math, that’s about 400 more hair coloring sessions.
\n
\nIs it really that difficult to manage? I say YES it really is. By the time I’m allowed (for safety’s sake) to color my hair again, the roots are a sight to see. Here are the answers to the imagined frequently asked questions about my hair:
\n*Yes, it really gets super gray\/grey after just two weeks
\n*I have <\/em>tried many different products, each increasing in its coloring intensity
\n*I’ve considered professional dyeing, but would need a trust fund to implement
\n
\nMy moment is recognizing that perhaps it is time to let my natural hair fly. It’s a huge step for me. It seems silly that our hair defines us, but as women, it is a reality of how we are perceived and how we perceive ourselves. I don’t want to look like an old lady yet, but if I can look like that woman above*, maybe gray and grey is possible.
