Add in the frequent visits to my parents’ and our trip last week to Colorado with my father-in-law and brother-in-law, it all adds up to a concentrated dose of FAMILY.
\n
\nMost everyone says that their family is crazy or that there is one crazy person in it and maybe that is true for everyone. But I had a moment this week where I stood back from a gathering at my parents’ house and observed just a big ol’ cup of crazy. A moment when you are in awe of the complete quirkiness of your blood relations. I could go into details, but there’s that whole protecting the innocent thing. Or maybe better stated as not embarrassing your family to the core. Suffice it to say that I would like to think I’m adopted, but I see the genes I carry manifested in my boys.
\n
\nMy moment is not that Cup of Crazy moment at my parents’ house. As I thought about my observations, and yes, my judgment of my family, I realized that I too take a sip (or three) from that cup. I’m sure my husband and children would tell you that, on occasion, I take a big swig from the Cup of Crazy. My moment is the realization that everyone has his or her turn with the cup, no matter how sane we think we are.
\n
\nBut I am thoroughly convinced that my mom carries a flask of the stuff…
\n
\n
:::<\/center>
\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"om [one moment] meet up\" src=\"http:\/\/cynthomas.com\/rdpblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/OM_alamodemeetupbutton41.jpg\" class=\"alignleft height=\"100\" width=\"139\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>
\nOM is *one moment* and is a meetup designed to notice & relish a moment in everyday life.
