\"\"<\/a>I remember when I was a young kid that I always had mixed feelings about Good Friday. My brother and I usually had a half day of school and then we would come home to a dramatic reading of the Good Friday\/Easter story by my mother from the Children’s Bible. It seemed to always be dark and rainy which fit my mother’s reading and mood. We listened to the story, starting at noon. When it was finished, we were expected to go to our rooms and read – no games, no TV and try to be as pious as possible, until 3pm. Then, all was well.
\n
\nPresent day, I have two boys and a husband who abide the Jewish faith. But I really have the urge to bring out that Children’s Bible and read the story the way it was read to me. I’m sure the boys would be fascinated by the story, but the drama just wouldn’t be there for me or them. I can’t recreate that tradition because the pieces of that puzzle just aren’t the same.

\nPerhaps we’ll start a new tradition and plant something for Earth Day…

\nAnd miraculously, I think it’s going to be sunny today.
