I’ve been a fan, but Etsy’s set-up did not make sense for the way I wanted to build my photo card site. I wanted image uploads automated and on-screen in a one-stop shopping kind-of-way. Secretly, I’m a bit of geek when it comes to technology 🙂

But as I began adding more and more stationery designs and simple, personalized cards to the site, it felt like they were getting lost in the mix. It also got me thinking about who is buying a photo card, as opposed to a set of stationery? Or maybe the better question is does a customer look for photo cards and stationery at the same time? I don’t think so…

One of my business goals was to streamline the website and try to make it more intuitive. This really brought home the fact that my stationery designs needed their own little home somewhere to feel appreciated. Long story short, RiverDog Prints is now on Etsy. I did think about creating another shop from the ground-up again on my other domain, Celebrateveryday.com. Then I got a hold of myself and realized that Etsy was the way to go. I only have a few designs up there right now because of those dang product shots that I LOVE SO MUCH! But I will eventually have more in the shop very soon.

One of the great things about making this move has been the way it has made me think more creatively about the business-side of this career I’ve chosen. Lots of good ideas and energy have been generated from one simple act.

Check out the shop here and let me know what you think!

Most everyone knows what a great place Etsy is to buy and sell handmade goods.
